STOCKHOLM (AA) - Swedish Justice Minister Beatrice Ask apologized on Wednesday to its citizens of Romani origin for the blacklisting by the Swedish police.
Expressing her sorrow and anger at the revelation of Swedish police's blacklisting of the Romani people in the country, Ask said during a televised interview that she would like to apologize to them on behalf of Sweden.
Ask noted that a thorough probe must be carried out, adding that the investigation was under way.
She also reminded of the prohibition on keeping records of people and blacklisting them due to ethnic origin, stressing that an apology would not suffice in this regard.
