Two passengers have been killed and five injured after gunmen attacked a train in southwestern Baluchistan.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which took place at the Mhach area about 50 kilometers from Quetta, the capital of the strife-torn province of Baluchistan on Monday.
"Militants fired on a passenger train coming from the northeastern city of Lahore city to Quetta ... killing two and injuring five," said Abdul Wasey Khan, a spokesman for the Frontier Constabulary, a paramilitary force stationed in the province, told Anadolu Agency.
He said he suspected the attack may have been carried out by the Baluchistan Liberation Army, a separatist movement fighting for the "liberation" of Baluchistan, which claims to have been incarcerated in Pakistan at the time of division of United India in 1947.
