ANKARA
Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Monday condemned the weekend's bomb attacks in Iraq which left dozens dead and many others wounded.
In a written statement released on Monday, the Turkish MFA said that it learned with deep sadness that a suicide blast in the northern town of Tal Afar on Saturday and bomb attacks in the several parts of Baghdad on Sunday had killed dozens of people including a senior Iraqi intelligence officer.
"We strongly condemn these attacks and wish God's mercy upon those killed, and offer condolences to the families of the victims, and wish speedy recovery to those wounded. We are uneasy about the escalated recent attacks in brotherly and neighbouring Iraq. We call on all Iraqi leaders particularly the government to take immediate steps to eliminate political tension, and solve the political issues in democratic and constitutional contexts," the statement said.
