KIRKUK
Turkey's leading aid agency (AFAD) sent humanitarian aid to 300 Christian families to the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk on Monday.
Dry food was one of the staples included in the aid for the families, which was delivered to the Almaz neighborhood of Kirkuk.
An administrative management member of the Assyrian church, in Kirkuk, in northern Iraq, Aman Toma Behnam expressed his thanks to Turkey's emergency and disaster agency.
Adding that the Christians, who have fled to Kirkuk, need help, Behnam said: "We hope this aid will continue."
For months, ISIL has been taking control of territory in Syria and Iraq, declaring an Islamic caliphate and driving an estimated 1.2 million Iraqis from their homes.
Its militants have particularly targeted Shia Muslims, Turkmen, Ezidis, and Christians.
