MOGADISHU
Many Turkish associations which came to Somali capital of Mogadishu following the civil war in Somalia provide meal services to thousands of residents and help to end hunger in the city.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), the Mogadishu representative of Kimse Yok Mu Association, Lutfullah Arslan, said that they came to Somalia 10 months ago to help Somali people.
Today, many Turkish associations and civil society organizations provide meal services and health services in Mogadishu, Arslan indicated.
Turkish aid organizations will remain in Mogadishu until there remain no Somali individual without food, Arslan noted.
Turkish associations have become a source of hope for people living in Somalia. Children no longer die here due to hunger. Somali individuals can get medical treatment. Turkish aid organizations provide the necessary assistance. The fate of Somalia has changed after Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited this country. Parents in Somalia give Turkish names to their babies, including "Recep", "Tayyip", "Erdogan", and "Istanbul". We can not describe how much love the Somali people have for Turks and Turkey. Somali children will no longer die and their mothers will no longer cry, Arslan said.
