ANKARA
The Assad regime should not remain in office for a second more and must be put on trial for war crimes, said Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc on Tuesday - a day after photographic evidence of tortures and massacres perpetrated by the regime emerged causing global outcry.
“Apart from being a journalism success, this development shows that people who witnessed this atrocity while working under the regime did not remain indifferent to massacres and agencies broadcast this with a great sensitivity,” Arinc added.
Photographs allegedly taken by a former Assad regime official were published on Monday by leading news agencies including Anadolu Agency alongside a report by forensic experts.
