WASHINGTON
Turkish Embassy in Washington hosted think tank organization Atlantic Council's annual executive meeting on Thursday.
U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Special Envoy for Strategic Stability and Missile Defense at the State Department Ellen Tauscher, U.S. President Barack Obama's former National Security Advisor James Jones, former U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Ross Wilson, Chairman of the Executive Board of Atlantic Council Chuck Hagel and other invitees participated in the meeting.
Making opening remarks, Turkey's Ambassador to Turkey Namik Tan gave messages to the invitees about Syria and fight against terrorism.
Noting that international community left Syrian people in the lurch, Tan said that Bashar Al-Assad's regime planted the seeds of a civil war in the country.
Tan also said that the conditions in terms of humanistic situation in the country were getting worse, and the issue was not only Turkey's problem, but also whole world would be responsible for what was happening in Syria.
"We should urgently step up actions with determination," said the ambassador.
