PARIS
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon late on Wednesday called on Europe to work collectively to bring an end to migrant deaths in the Mediterranean.
Ban, speaking at a joint press conference with French President Francois Hollande at the Elyse Palace in Paris, said the main issues during their 45-minute meeting included climate change, radicalism, and the migrants crisis after a number of people lost their lives at sea recently.
Ban said migrants are leaving their countries to escape violence and conflicts.
The leaders also talked about the earthquake-hit country Nepal, where thousands of people were killed, President Hollande said.
