US President Barack Obama sent a message to Iran over the US government’s approach to the Syrian crisis and stated that this approach of US will show Iran to refrain from military power and show the diplomatic ways of solution for the ongoing nuclear crisis.
Obama spoke to ABC TV just before the US and Russia agreed on the proposals of taking Syria’s chemicals under international control and the interview has just been published.
Stating that he doesn’t share Putin’s vision on Syria, Obama said that he told Putin that it would be better for both states to stop chaos and terrorism but still there is no ground to back Syrian regime; there will be conflict as long as Assad is at power.
Obama also stated that despite of all he would not use force to stop conflict in Syria and the only concern of US is chemical weapons.
Referring to nuclear program of Iran, Obama stated that the US approach to Syrian chemicals show Iran to refrain from using force and heed to diplomatic ways for solution.
Obama noted that the Iran nuclear program is a greater issue than that of Syria for the US and expressed that this should not be interpreted as the US is unable to hit Tehran.
Obama stated that he had exchanged letters with Iranian President Rouhani and he believed that Rouhani has the potential to come to compromise for the Iranian nuclear program in a diplomatic way.
