ANKARA
Palestine's Ambassador in Ankara Nabil Maarouf stated on Tuesday, they will be holding various efforts to support 750,000 Palestinians in Israeli jails.
He added that in this framework, they would like to organize week-long special events in Ankara and Istanbul for the prisoners.
Maarouf stated that they see Turkey and Palestine as a single body and added, "For hundreds of years, both states shared the same history, culture and traditions. We are the same and we have to continue together. Turkey will keep being the major power in the region and keep its importance."
Palestinian ambassador noted that for the Palestinians who stay in Israeli jails, they will carry out various works and added, "imprisoned Palestinians are on a hunger strike. They protest the inhumane acts of Israel. There are 750,000 Palestinian prisoners and almost all our people have a jail experience. We do some works for the prisoners. In this framework, we plan to organize week-long special events in Turkey in support of prisoners."
