US House Speaker Mike Johnson swore in Republican Rep.-elect Clay Fuller on Tuesday as the new member for the 14th Congressional District of Georgia.
"Congratulations, you're now a member of the 119th Congress," Johnson said.
The seat in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District fell vacant after Marjorie Taylor Greene resigned in January following a public fallout with President Donald Trump over his handling of the release of files tied to the investigation of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Last week, Fuller – a district attorney and longtime Republican figure – defeated Democrat Shawn Harris in the runoff.
After the swearing-in ceremony, addressing the lower chamber for the first time, Fuller said: "To the hard-working people of Georgia 14 who elected me, you were sent a warrior to Congress, and I can’t wait to fight for you each and every day."
After the swearing-in of Fuller, the total number of the House is 432 (213 Democrats, 218 Republicans, 1 Independent, 3 vacancies).
