ISTANBUL
Major US stock indexes ended mixed Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average scoring another record close while the Nasdaq sank.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 214.59 points, or 0.59%, to close at an all-time high of 36,799 after a record close on Monday.
The S&P 500 slipped 3.02 points, or 0.06%, to 4,793.
The Nasdaq slumped 210.08 points, or 1.33%, to finish at 15,622.
US manufacturing growth in December slowed to its lowest level in 11 months, dropping to 58.7% compared to 61.1% in November, according to the Institute for Supply Management.
Meanwhile, a record 4.5 million people in the US quit their jobs in November while job openings fell by 529,000 to 10.6 million, according to the Labor Department.
