The Consumer Confidence Index decreased in June when compared to May in 2012.
TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, said on Monday that the index, which was 92.1 in May 2012 went down 0.4 percent and became 91.8 in June 2012.
TurkStat's monthly Consumer Tendency Survey was carried out with consumers' assessments on current situation and their expectations for personal financial standing and general economic situation as well as their expenditure tendencies for near future.
The consumer confidence index can take value between 0-200. It indicates an optimistic outlook when the index is above 100, but it gives a pessimistic outlook when it is below 100.
