MOSCOW
Russia's ruble made a strong start Thursday morning at 52.70 and 64.70 to the dollar and euro respectively.
Whether it would manage to hold these gains throughout the day remained to be seen.
The RTS Index was up as well at 833.96.
Even with the gains it made during the week, the ruble still remained at record lows since the default of 1998.
