ANKARA
Political and business leaders from around the globe are preparing to meet in Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss economic cooperation and ways of attracting international investment to Southeastern Europe.
The forum is organized by Bosna Bank International in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank.
The two-day Sixth Sarajevo Business Forum, popularly known as the 'Balkans Davos,' will open in Sarajevo on Wednesday.
Business people from around the region as well as their counterparts from more than 30 countries are expected to join the conference, which will include guests such as the deputy prime minister of Turkey responsible for the Economy. Ali Babacan.
The Foreign Minister of India Vijay Kumar Singh, the Foreign Minister of Sudan Ali Ahmed Karti and the prime minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic are expected to attend the forum.
This year’s forum, will be held under the slogan ''One region, one economy,' will discuss a European center for the production of healthy food, a major information technology hub, and an educational center for foreign students and for the development of tourism.
On the second day, the forum will focus on development of future joint strategies in the fields of entrepreneurship, IT shortcut development, educational entrepreneurship, healthy food production for European markets as well as the potential of the region in the development of tourism.
Delegates including representatives of investment funds and chambers of commerce from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will also attend, seeking opportunities in food, infrastructure, agriculture and tourism.
