The number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey reached 17.3 million in April 2013 with a 12.5 percent monthly rise, the country's statistics authority has said.
A total of 99,434 motor vehicles were registered in traffic in April 2013, and passenger cars took the first place with 55.6 percent, followed by motorcycles with 18.1 percent, small trucks with 14.7, tractors 4.8 percent. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted the 6.8 percent of the registered motor vehicles in April 2013.
In April 2013, the number of motor vehicles registered in traffic increased by 12.5 percent compared to March 2013.
On monthly basis, cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 7.6 percent, 11.3 percent, 12.6 percent, 9.7 percent, 6.9 percent, 35.2 percent, 0.7 percent, and 14.6 percent respectively.
In April 2013, the number of motor vehicles registered to the traffic increased by 13.6 percent when compared with the same month of 2012.
Year-on-year, cars, minibuses, buses, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles increased by 29.1 percent, 8.1 percent, 28.3 percent, 15.8 percent, 795.9 percent respectively while small trucks, trucks and tractors decreased by 8.3 percent, 16.6 percent and 29.8 percent.
