BELGRADE, Serbia
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic has said cooperation with Turkey on finding a solution to the migrant crisis is crucial.
A trilateral meeting between the presidents of Croatia, Slovenia and Austria was held in the northern Croatian city of Varazdin on Friday.
The migrant crisis, EU enlargement policy in southeast Europe, the border issue between Croatia and Slovenia and economic development were all on the agenda.
Speaking at a news conference, all three presidents emphasized European solidarity on migrant crisis and boosting ties between Central Europe and the Euro Atlantic integration of southeast European countries.
Kitarovic said cooperation with Turkey was a key issue as well as a question of border control for European countries.
Kitarovic and Slovenian President Borut Pahor announced that they would visit the Macedonian border in order to verify the situation on the ground and provide support.
