The Israeli army said Thursday that it carried out a “precise strike” in the Lebanese capital Beirut.
“A short while ago, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a precise strike in Beirut. Details to follow,” the army said in a brief statement.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency later reported that an Israeli strike targeted an apartment in a building in the Choueifat area of Beirut’s southern suburbs.
The attack marked the second Israeli strike targeting Beirut since the ceasefire agreement took effect on April 17.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee also said in a post through US social media company X that the military had “precisely attacked” the Beirut area.
No immediate details were available regarding casualties or the intended target.
The strike came hours after Israeli attacks killed at least 15 people, including children, across southern Lebanon amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement, according to Lebanese official sources.
