JERUSALEM
After the 8-day-long attacks, truce negotiations were held in Cairo and now the details of the meeting in Egypt start to emerge.
Giving details to the AA about the truce between Hamas and Israel, spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Yigal Palmor, said, "Israel achieved all of its aims with the operation followed by truce," at the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem.
He described the truce negotiations in Cairo as "quite difficult and demanding negotiation period" and gave details of the 7-article truce;
-Israel will end all its air and sea attacks.
-All Palestinian fractions including the missile attacks from Israel to Gaza and all attacks along the border will conclude.
-Israel will avoid to attack residents along the border, limit ins and outs of people and their goods who live near the border. Implementation of the agreement will apply in 24 hours of the start of the truce.
-If demanded, other topics will be discussed later on.
-The deal will be applied as soon as possible.
-Egypt will take separate assurances from both sides regarding their commitments to each other.
-Both sides will agree on not carrying on any protests against the truce. If that occurs, Egypt will be noticed and informed about the situation immediately.
Palmor stated that at the truce negotiations, Israel was represented by Director of MOSSAD, an official from the Israeli Defense Ministry and a diplomat. On the behalf of Hamas, they were represented by Egyptian officials.
Palmor added that the main topic of the negotiations was about the security and that is why the negotiations were carried on by the representatives of Israeli security wing.
Regarding some details of the truce, negotiations still continue in Cairo, he said.
Upon a question if the truce will be sustainable, he said, "Nobody knows that, only the time will show it."
