DAMASCUS
At least 70 people, including 15 children and 4 women, were killed in attacks staged by the Syrian regime across the country on Thursday, opposition activists said.
Syrian regime forces killed 16 people in Aleppo, 13 in Damascus suburbs, 11 in Daraa, seven in Hama, Deir ez Zor and Homs each, one in Idlib and Quneitra each and seven in refugee camps in the country, said the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group which tracks civilian and dissident casualties.
Meanwhile, people were also wounded in the howitzer and rocket attacks staged by Assad forces on several Damascus suburbs.
Syria's official news agency SANA claimed security forces cleared away many armed groups in the Damascus countryside and destroyed their vehicles.
