ISTANBUL
Istanbul’s leading digital game fair, GameX 2014, kicked off on Thursday with the participation of more than 100 gaming companies including the renowned Crytek and Asus.
Ismet Goksel, organizer of the fair, said digital games’ market was essential for economies, adding that some universities had even opened departments for gaming.
“Some graduates had to move to foreign countries for gaming. But I believe we will reverse this trend,” Goksel added.
Organizers said over 100,000 people were expected to visit the four-day-long fair, during which participants will have a chance to test several video games.
At the opening, a Turkish online role-playing game, Mount and Blade, was honored as Best Domestic Digital Game by the organizers.
