ANKARA
Round 32 of the UEFA Europa League is set to start on Thursday with Turkish club Besiktas playing away to English side Liverpool and Turkish club Trabzonspor hosting Italian side Napoli.
Besiktas will play Liverpool seven seasons after their last ill-fated visit to Anfield. The Black Eagles set a goal-conceding record after being swept aside 8-0 by Liverpool, a result which marked the biggest defeat in UEFA Champions League history.
The showdown at Anfield, Liverpool will kick off at 21:05 CET (2005 GMT). Szymon Marciniak from Poland will referee the match.
Another Turkish team in the Europa League, Trabzonspor, will host Italian heavyweights Napoli. The match at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium in Trabzon, northeast Turkey, will start at 19:00 CET (1800 GMT).
Portuguese referee Manuel Jorge Neves Moreira De Sousa and his assistants were unable to reach Turkey due to bad weather conditions. In their place, Russian referee Vladislav Bezborodov and his assistants Nikolai Golubev, Maxim Gavrilin, Valeriy Danchenko, Aleksei Eskov and Sergey Ivanov have been assigned for the match.
The UEFA Europa League is Europe's second-tier international club-level football tournament.
The second legs of the tournament will be played on Thursday, Feb. 26.
