DAMASCUS
A team of Anadolu Agency correspondent, cameraman and photo journalist have entered Douma and Eastern Guta districts of Syria.
Douma district, which had 600,000 population, is now a wreck after Syrian air forces' heavy bombardments. There are collapsed buildings, damaged houses and vehicles, and 5-meter-deep holes made by bombs.
Infrastructure of the district was significantly destroyed due to bombardments. There is no water as water pipelines were damaged too.
Douma's population had been 600,000 before the bombardment; now there are very few people in the district as others migrated to safer places.
Free Syrian Army allows only passage of local people in and out of the district.
Opponents are more effective in eastern parts of Damascus (Eastern Guta). Only a few units from regime forces remained in the district.
