The ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party and the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) agreed on holding local elections on October 27, 2013.
AK Party group deputy chairman Nurettin Canikli said that AK Party and MHP reached consensus on a constitutional amendment on holding local elections on October 27, 2013.
Meanwhile, the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) offered that local elections be held on November 3, 2013.
