Anadolu Agency (AA) Executive Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk on Friday said that western democratic, ethical concept of broadcasting principles fell down in wake of developments in Egypt and the foreign news about demonstrations for Gezi Park in Turkey.
"Supposing that AA does not broadcast news in Egypt, the march of news will be dissimulated differently," said Ozturk, while talking about latest developments in Egypt and the behaviours of western broadcasting corporations over the military coup in Egypt and Gezi Park demonstrations in Turkey.
"Foreign broadcasting corporations can never tell us anything about democracy from now on," Ozturk highlighted.
"That's why we need to create one. In other words, we need to create our own broadcasting concept, laws and ethical behaviours," Ozturk added.
"If both the coup-makers and coup victims in Cairo trust the AA news, here it is a model behavior to the west," Ozturk said.
Ozturk underlined "l will never cite broadcasting principles of western media corporations and relate those principles with anything. Our concept of broadcasting has served as a model for foreign media".
"We are fed up with Western based pressures on news," said Ozturk.
Regarding AA concept of broadcasting rights, Ozturk said "we need to offer a new media concept to the world, we must tell them that a new era has begun".
We know the importance of our responsibilities as AA news agency, Ozturk said.
