Earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit off Bozcaada (island) in the Aegean Sea on Tuesday.
The quake was felt in several cities including Istanbul in Aegean and Marmara regions.
Bogazici University's Kandilli Observatory Institute stated that the quake happened 50 km off Bozcaada and 8.4 km under the seabed at 4:16 p.m. today.
Governor Gungor Azim Tuna of the northwestern Canakkale province told AA that no casualties had been reported so far.
Tuna said that the epicenter of the earthquake was Aegean Sea, and it was felt in Istanbul and Izmir.

Earthquake was generated by a fault line independent from a massive fault zone which may cause a major tremor in the country's Marmara region, a Turkish geologist said.
"The possibility for this quake to trigger the major earthquake we expect in Marmara to occur is so weak that it is almost non-existent," Prof. Naci Gorur from Istanbul Technical University told Anadolu Agency.
