ANKARA
"Mardinar," ridden by jockey Ahmet Celik, won the 13th Anadolu Agency Horse Racing Cup in Ankara on Thursday.
At the race run at the Ankara 75th Year Hippodrome's 2,100 m sand racetrack, "Mardinar" triumphed with a 2:15.72 time to reach the grand prize of TRY54,500.
The total prize given at the race of 9 English horses was TRY92,650.
"Tosunoglu," in the hands of Ozcan Yildirim, came the second while "Blue Eagle," ridden by Gokhan Gokce, finished the race at the third place.
On behalf of Anadolu Agency Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk, Deputy Director General Ebubekir Sahin presented the prize to Murat Aksoy, the owner of the winning horse "Mardinar", at a ceremony after the race.
Anadolu Agency Finance Director Ural Yesil, Director of Human Resources Mucahit Soykan and Director of Information Technologies Yakup Sivka were also present at the prize ceremony.
