President Gul cancels his abroad trips in September and October
ANKARA
Turkish President Abdullah Gul cancelled his trips to foreign countries in September and October.
Presidency officials told AA on Monday that Gul cancelled his trips which were scheduled to be paid in September and October due to a problem in his both ears.
His doctors at Hacettepe University Hospital recommended Gul not to hold air travels for two months.
Gul has been undergoing a treatment for a recurring problem in both ears at the Hacettepe University Hospital since last week after cutting short his visit in Kyrgyzstan and returned to Turkey on Thursday.
Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Murat Tuncer said that Gul's condition had been getting better each day, and he would return to hospital to continue his treatment today after completing his schedule during the day.
The rector added that Gul was recommended to avoid air travel for a while in order to prevent the problem in his ears recurring.
Meanwhile, it has not been cleared yet whether National Security Council will hold its meeting on Tuesday or not. The council convenes under the leadership of the president.
