In many countries from the Pacific to the Central Asia, from the Middle East and Africa to the Balkans and from Caucasia to South America, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) had a big impact on 2013 with the humanitarian projects that they have conducted all around the world.
Established in 1992, TIKA develops projects and carries on the reciprocal sharing of experience around the world in the presence of the Turkish government.
TIKA conducted its humanitarian activities in many countries this year. For example, various agriculture equipment and 4 tractors were donated to South Asian country Myanmar. Drinking water supply issues of some villages in Kyrgyzstan were solved.
The organization donated $200,000 to provide potable water to around five thousand American-Indians in Oregon, USA.
The search for Sultan Alparslan’s tomb and the Mausoleum Construction projects has commenced and the official discussions for these projects in Turkmenistan have been completed.
The Agency has provided necessary materials to humanitarian organizations in Republic of the Congo in order to teach Pygmy people how to read and brick working.
A new museum was built in Macedonia’s Kocacik village, in commemoration of Ataturk’s father Ali Riza Efendi.
The house in which Bosnia and Herzegovina’s late President Alija Izetbegovic lived was renovated by TIKA.
Officials from TIKA visited Philippines to commence humanitarian activities along with technical support.
Following Turkish PM Erdogan’s directives, TIKA has started to construct 100 houses in northern Mannar province of Sri Lanka, which had been severely affected during the civil war. Need of people for shelter and clean water will be met as well.

TIKA works in 100 countries and the organization aims to share Turkey’s knowledge and experience in humanitarian aspects extending from technical infrastructure to corporate capacity increase.
