Prof. Aylin Kuntay was granted with Holland's Prince Claus Award with her research on the importance of early language development in education
UTRETCH (AA) - May 23, 2013 - Prof. Aylin Kuntay, an academician working at Koc University, has began her duty after she was granted with Holland's Prince Claus Development and Equality Award.
Kuntay's presentation on the importance of early language development in education, and environmental and cognitive factors influencing this development drew great attention at the award ceremony where Queen Maxima of Netherlands was also present.
Kuntay, known with the research she carries out in the fields of language and communication skills as well as psychology, will continue her studies at the Utretch University of Holland for the next 1.5 years.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Kuntay said, "I'm aware that research in the field of language development is very intense in Holland. It is very important for me to be among these researchers. It's a great opportunity for me and I'm very excited."
The Fund has presented the international Prince Claus Awards annually since 1997 to honor individuals and organizations reflecting a progressive and contemporary approach to the themes of culture and development. Recipients are mainly located in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Carribean.
