A criminal high court in Istanbul province has acquitted 51 suspects of all charges of allegedly founding and being members of an armed terrorist organization.
According to Public Prosecutor Bilgin Akpinar, the Bakirkoy Third High Criminal Court ruled on Tuesday that there was not sufficient evidence to prove the guilt of the suspects in making propaganda for the Al Qaeda terrorist organization or establishing or being members of an armed terrorist organization.
The case was a part of a probe over a 2011 complaint filed by Mehmet Nuri Turan, founder of the Istanbul-based publishing house "Tahsiye", who had claimed that he was targeted by the U.S.-based cleric Fetullah Gulen.
