NEW YORK
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Monday met with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's 67th term meetings.
The two ministers discussed the issue of Syria, Turkish-German cooperation and a banner campaign in Germany that caused fierce reaction among the Muslims of Germany.
On Syria, Davutoglu conveyed to Westerwelle the latest developments on the Turkish side of the Turkey-Syria border.
Westerwelle told Davutoglu that the international community watched with appreciation Turkey's assistance to Syrian refugees in Turkey.
On Turkish-German cooperation, the two ministers agreed on making new arrangements to carry forward bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Davutoglu conveyed Turkey's concerns on a banner campaign in Germany that caused fierce reaction among the Muslims of Germany.
Turkish fm discusses several issues with his counterparts in New York
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu discussed several issues including Syria crisis with Algeria's, Brazil's, Sweden's, Romania's and South Sudan's foreign ministers on Monday in New York.
Having talks within the scope of the 67th term meetings of the United Nations in New York, Turkish FM Davutoglu met his several counterparts.
Syria crisis was the main topic of Davutoglu's meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci.
Davutoglu drew attention to humanitarian aid for Syrian people who are staying in neighboring countries and Arab League's efforts for Syria issue.
Stating that they were aware of Algeria's stance towards Syria issue, Davutoglu said that they were expecting Algeria to inculcate Syria more.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Foreign Relations Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota informed Davutoglu about domestic political developments in Brazil during the bilateral meeting.
Patriota stated that both countries could be evaluated in the same category in terms of economic growth.
In response to Patriota, Davutoglu said that despite having geographically huge distance, Turkey's and Brazil's diplomatic relations was a role model for most countries.
Sweden's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt later on attended Davutoglu's meeting with Patriota. Three foreign ministers stated that all of them shared same opinions over several global issues.
Davutoglu offered to hold another meeting between three ministers in coming period. Davutoglu also invited them to the meeting of ambassadors in Turkey in January, 2013.
Later the ministers had come together over a working meal. During the meal the ministers discussed economic crisis, anti-Islam movie as well as Syria issue.
During his meeting with Romania's Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean, Davutoglu congratulated Corlatean for his new task.
Corlatean stated that they were aware of Turkish people who are living in Mecidiye town of Dobruca region in Romania, and they were doing their best to protect those people's rights.
While having meeting with South Sudan's Foreign Minister Nhial Deng Nhail, Turkish FM Davutoglu stated that they were closely monitoring the recent developments between Sudan and South Sudan.
Davutoglu stated that they were determined to increase their relations with South Sudan.
