Turkish President Abdullah Gul has said that efforts to stop violence in Syria were not enough.
There is an administration in Syria which now completely lost its legitimacy, added Gul who held a joint press conference with Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba in Ankara on Wednesday.
Recalling that UN-Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan announced a plan after his first visit to Syria, Gul said that fierce clashes had been continuing, cities had been under bombing, and more civilians had been killed after so-called cease fire had been declared under the plan.
Migration of Syrian citizens is speeding up. There are almost more than 40,000 Syrians crossed in Turkey so as in Jordan and other countries, said Gul.
He added that a new administration, which would represent the will of people, should immediately be set up after so many deaths in Syria.
Turkish businesspeople have great interest in Gabon, says Turkish president
Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Wednesday said that Turkish businesspeople and small and medium scale businesses had great interest in Gabon and that they had many big infrastructure investments in that country.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba in Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday, President Gul said that Turkish companies would construct new residential units in Gabon.
"I am pleased to host President Ondimba. I visited Gabon last year. My visit to Gabon was an historic one. Since that trip, our relations have been developing rapidly," Gul noted.
"President Ondimba is visiting Turkey for the first time as a president. His visit to Turkey carries a special importance. Gabon is one of the most stable countries of Africa. Gabon is rapidly developing under the leadership of Ondimba," Gul stressed.
"At the time when the chairperson of the African Union Commission was Gabonese, Turkey and the African Union signed a strategic partnership agreement. Since then, Turkey has developed her political and economic relations with many African countries," Gul stated.
"During our tete-a-tete meeting and the meeting between respective delegations today, we discussed ways to carry our relations further," Gul underlined.
"Turkey's economic cooperation with African countries is not based on a unilateral gain. We develop our relations on the principle of win-win," Gul added.
Prior to the press conference, Turkey and Gabon signed an agreement on mutual encouragement and protection of investments and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Diplomacy Academy of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Gabonese Foreign Ministry.
Gabon's president calls on Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in his country
Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba has said that Turkey was now one of the biggest strategic partners of Africa.
Speaking at a joint conference with Turkish President Abdullah Gul at Cankaya Presidential Place in Ankara on Wednesday, Goban's President Ondimba called on Turkish entrepreneurs to make investments in his country.
Ondimba mentioned that he was pleased with Turkey's stance on Africa.
Turkey is a model for Gabon and other countries on development sector, and we are glad to sign strategic partnership agreement with developed and powerful countries, stated Ondimba.
Noting that the residential sector was their priority to develop, "There is a huge gap in this sector in Gabon, and a need of approximately 200,000 accommodation units. To close this gap we received constructive response from Turkey," said the president.
Stating that he was willing to visit Turkey very often, "They might get tired to host us in Turkey," said Ondimba.
"Turkey is one of the biggest strategic partners of Africa. We want Turkey's flag to wave in the capital city of Libreville. In the light of these, we want Turkish Airlines to begin flights to Gabon soon," said Ondimba.
Ondimba will hold talks with several officials in coming days in Istanbul.
