ANKARA
Turkey's Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said that Turkey was at the beginning of a road for a visa-free Europe.
Speaking to reporters after receiving Turkey's former Ambassador in Damascus Omer Onhon in Ankara, Bagis said that "we could say Europe issued a visa for Turkish citizens but that Turkey was at the beginning of the road for a visa-free Europe".
We have tried to convince the European Union (EU). The EU have understood that the Turkish people have been tired while waiting for visas, Bagis said.
We are one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. The EU have to see that visa requirement implemented for Turkish citizens actually harms Europe, Bagis also said.
