Afghanistan's Interior Ministry says 17 Taliban fighters were killed and 16 security captured in operations carried out on Sunday.
A statement said operations were launched in Nangarhar, Laghman, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Khost, Paktika and Helmand provinces.
Afghan forces confiscated several weapons and explosives during the operations, the statement added.
The defense ministry announced that the Afghan army defused 78 road-side bombs across the country.
Special operations teams reportedly confiscated 6,200 kilograms of explosives in an operation in the Musakhel district of Khost Province.
