KABUL
At least 45 people, including 41 Taliban members have been killed and 16 others wounded in nationwide military operations, said the country's defense ministry on Wednesday.
According to a written statement issued by the ministry, the Afghan army launched operations in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Baghlan, Logar and Wardak provinces in the last 24 hours.
Two Taliban members were also detained and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized and neutralized by the national forces.
Meanwhile, Taliban made no immediate comment on the operations.
Recent months have seen a wave of attacks carried out across Afghanistan, killing hundreds of people.
