Airports are asking passengers to check the status of their flight with their airlines before leaving for their journeys as many flights are subject to delays and cancellation. The fault has affected airports in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The National Air Control Service (NATS) said, “Due to a technical problem at Swanwick we are currently experiencing some difficulty switching from night time to daytime operation. This may result in some delays for which we apologise.” They tried to reassure travelers saying, “Engineers are working to rectify the problem as soon as possible.”
