MOSUL
The Governor of Iraq's Mosul province Atheel al-Nujaifi has escaped an assassination attempt that left 2 people killed and 3 others wounded, officials said.
Mosul Governor's Office spokesman Ali Mahmoud spoke to Anadolu Agency and said a car bomb went off next to the motorcade including the governor's official car in the eastern part of Mosul.
Mahmoud said the governor escaped the assassination unhurt but two civilian passers-by died and 3 security guards were injured.
Assassination attempts on Mosul Governor Nujaifi took place previously as well.
