A hot air balloon crash killed 18 people in Luxor city of Egypt, said the hospital sources.
According to information that AA received from the officials of Luxor International Hospital, 18 people lost their lives in the hot air balloon crash.
It was said that the hot air balloon fell from 100-200 metres high and crashed into a sugar cane field.
An official from the Luxor Historical Artifacts and Tourism, Hosni Hussein, told AA, "9 from Hong Kong, 4 from Japan, 2 British, 2 French and one Egyptian, total of 18 people lost their lives. Three crew members survived the crash. Egyptian citizen who died in the crash was their tour guide."
Representative of the tourism agency which runs the balloon tours told AA that there might be a gas leak causing the balloon to explode in mid-air and then crash into the sugar cane field.
In initial reports, the death toll had been announced as 19.
