Clashes occurred in the city centre early morning Tuesday, with protesters hurling Molotov cocktails and stones at security forces who hit back with stun grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas.
Ukraine has been witnessing anti-government protests since Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych refrained from signing an Association Agreement with European Union in November last year, in favor of closer ties with Russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kojara said radical groups are infringing Ukrainian laws today. The government is determined to do all it can to control the situation with peaceful ways, added the foreign minister.
Ukraine`s interior ministry have confirmed the incident, no information has been released as yet.
