Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that they supported the legitimate demands of the Syrian people for more democracy, transparency and rule of law.
Davutoglu addressed the participants of a meeting organized by members of the Syrian National Council and Syrian opposition groups in Istanbul on Saturday.
We support the legitimate demands of the Syrian people, Davutoglu underlined.
Davutoglu gave information on diplomatic steps to meet the demands of the Syrian people at the Istanbul meeting.
The massacre in Houla changed many things, Davutoglu noted.
Turkey will continue with its open door policy, Davutoglu stated.
The number of Syrians who have entered Turkey after fleeing clashes in their country has reached 30,900. We will continue to extend all possible assistance to Syrians living in Turkey, Davutoglu stressed.
Turkey wishes for a strong Syria. We do not want a divided Syria. I do hope that Syria will become a strong and prosperous country in the future, Davutoglu indicated.
Davutoglu advised the Syrian opposition groups to overcome differences and unite.
It is important for all groups involved to act together, Davutoglu also said.
