MOSCOW
A senior Turkish diplomat was meeting on Thursday with Russian president's special envoy to the Middle East for talks over the Syria crisis and situation in the region.
Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu was expected to present "solid proposals over Syria" in his meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow, according to a senior Turkish official with insight to the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as is customary in Turkey.
The two officials met earlier in November last year in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Russia is one of the few remaining allies of Syria while Turkey is calling for the ouster for Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad.
