CAIRO
Egypt's interim president Adly Mansour has named two advisors for political and constitutional affairs.
Counselor Ali Awad Saleh, the former deputy head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, was named as a constitutional advisor for the president, the state television said on Friday.
Dr. Mostafa Hegazi, a professor of political sciences, was appointed as a political advisor.
Mansour, the top judge of the Supreme Constitutional Court, was installed by the army as Egypt’s interim president.
His inauguration came after the army ousted President Mohamed Morsi after massive protests against his regime.
Sources have told Anadolu Agency that Mansour is expected to issue a constitutional declaration soon.
The declaration will dissolve the Islamists-dominated Shura Council, the upper house of parliament, which now has the legislative authority, said the sources.
Mansour will keep the legislative authority for himself.
The declaration will stipulate the formation of a special panel to work on amending the constitution, which the army temporarily suspended.
The panel will have three months to agree on the amendments from the day of its formation and the proposed amendments would be put to a popular referendum.
Parliamentary and presidential elections, to be fully supervised by the judiciary, will not be held before amending the constitution.
Mansour’s constitutional declaration will stipulate forming a government of technocrats with wide authorities.
