ANKARA
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered People's Voice (HAS) Party to join his Justice and Development (AK) Party, said Chairman of HAS Party Numan Kurtulmus.
Turkish Prime Minister & Chairman of AK Party Recep Tayyip Erdogan met HAS Party leader Numan Kurtulmus at the Prime Ministry building on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters following a 1 hour 15 minute-meeting, Kurtulmus said, "we received an invitation today from Prime Minister Erdogan for HAS Party to join his ruling AK Party. We exchanged our views on the union."
Noting that his party filled a gap with its projects and contributions to the processes in Turkey, Kurtulmus stated that the HAS Party was able to fill the gap with its ideas, views, statements and political style.
Underlining that PM Erdogan would take the decision on the union to his party's Central Decision and Executive Board, Kurtulmus said "we also suggested taking the invitation to our Central Executive Board and General Administrative Board."
As our party's relevant bodies make decisions, we will share them with the Turkish public, stated Kurtulmus.
Kurtulmus also stated that as a party they did not seek any title, adding that they would debate the possibility of a union with the AK Party based on their principles.
The People's Voice Party is a current political party in Turkey. It was founded on November 1, 2010 by Numan Kurtulmus.
The party received approximately 0.80 percent of the votes in the general elections in 2011.
