Abdul Azez Gayrat, chief of police in Cevizcan, northern province of Afghanistan, told AA correspondent that intense security measures were taken for a peaceful holiday.
He said that the number of check points was increased and special teams will be deployed in several spots during the holiday.
A resident of northern Faryab province, Ibrahim Kulli, said that they would like to walk around freely during the holiday complaining that they could not do that often.
Mullah Omar, top Taliban leader in Afghanistan called for a ceasefire during the Ramadan holiday this year and a peaceful holiday was experienced first time in years.
Taliban has not made such an announcement yet.
Civilians are reported concerned due to the increase in the acts of violence recently.
