BELGRADE
The body of stabbed Serbian basketball fan, Marko Ivkovic, arrived in Belgrade on Saturday night.
25-year-old Ivkovic's body was sent to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport by Turkish Airlines.
His body was taken by his parents and will be buried on Monday Nov. 24.
Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports, Vanja Udovicic, was also at the airport.
A ceremony for the young basketball fan was held in Saint Marko Church in Belgrade.
Many people attended the ceremony, where prayers were made and candles lit for Ivkovic.
Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade chair Nebojsa Covic and sports director Davor Ristovic also took part in the ceremony.
Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade, or Red Star Belgrade, was the team that Marko Ivkovic travelled to Turkey to support Friday evening.
A group of Crvena Zvezda fans protested the killing of Ivkovic outside the Turkish Embassy in Belgrade, where they also set off fireworks and chanted for the deceased Serbian fan.
Marko Ivkovic was stabbed in the chest outside Abdi Ipekci Arena in Istanbul where he had gone to support his team Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade.
They were playing a Turkish Airlines Euroleague match against Turkish team Galatasaray Liv Hospital on Friday evening.
