ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday said, Turkey's findings for chemical weapon attacks in Syria have been shared with the international community.
Speaking at a press conference, Davutoglu said "All information at hand suggest that the opposition do not have such sophisticated weapons. We believe Assad regime is responsible of the chemical attack undoubtedly".
Davutoglu said "Even a person has the chemical weapon primatively, if that person does not have the firing mecanism, by its technical term, that person does not have a delivery mechanism, therefore, that person cannot use the weapon".
"All the intelligence assesments in our hands prove that the opposition do not have such sophisticated weapons," Davutoglu added.
-Findings shared with the international community-
"The findings have been surely shared with the international community," said Davutoglu regarding Turkey's intelligence assesments.
"We evaluated all the possibilities," Davutoglu said regarding the possible military intervention to Syria.
Davutoglu said "An international initiative to end the Syrian war should begin after evaluating the information which was obtained from the opposition, people and intelligence".
"None of the parties, no matter which side they have supported, have not gotten into any actions but Turkey," said Davutoglu adding "Turkey has used all its diplomatic potential for this issue. Despite Turkey's efforts, its friendly recommendations which also involved Turkey's security, have not been taken into consideration".
Davutoglu said "from the moment when the attacks took place, the common attitude of international community and international law against such attacks was a response as needed," said Davutoglu and added, "but, there was no alternating attitude toward this".
"We all primarily would prefer to see the decision of the United Nations Security Council, we still prefer that. There is not even second clear violation of the United Nations norms. What happened in Bosnia Herzegovia has provided us many clear violence such as human rights violence and massacres as those which took place there. But there are really rare violence of norm and international law within the framework of weapons of mass destruction. We had expected from UNSC to react to this very decisively," said Davutoglu.
-No UN reaction despite 10 days-
"Unfortunately the UN could not react to chemical weapon attack despite one week even 10 days have already passed," Davutoglu emphasized.
Davutoglu said "Turkey held its phone diplomacy with all UN members intensively during this process, and its phone diplomacy has aimed at providing a common reaction of international community as a body".
"Syrian regime is responsible of chemical attack in east Ghouta," said Davutoglu.
Stating that some circles tried to accuse Turkey of calling for war in Syria, Davutoglu said, Turkey from the beginning was calling on the international community for an effective response.
"For us, the main issue is Turkish public's security (regarding intervention against Syria)," Davutoglu added.
Davutoglu also said that there was no urgent need for an act of parliament referring to Turkish parliamentary resolution over military intervention to Syria.
